- book by Jer Thorpe, a "data artist", in fact he may have invented this profession.
- Cool story about how he did a layout for the 9/11 memorial (talk about semantically loaded data). The underlying formal problem was just graph layout I guess, but he outcompeted a bunch of finance quants by taking more of the problem structure into account.
