  • I wrote Refactoring War in 2014, during an earlier instance of conflict in Gaza. You know the phrase, "blessed are the peacemakers"? Well, what if you considered the warmakers as all being on the same side, opposed to the peacemakers? The peacemakers are not just blessed, they are your true allies, no matter what side of the unrefactored conflict they are on.

    • The essence of the idea is to see a war as not a fight between the two ostensible sides (Israelis and Palestinians) but between the warmongers on both sides, who share an interest in keeping the conflict going, and normal people who just want to live their lives without being killed or being forced to be killers. In this case, the warmongers are clear -- Netanyahu and his faction and Hamas not only profit from the conflict, it is well established how they help each other.
